Father’s Day is right around the corner, which is why Vergelegen Wine Estate has put together a few specials of a bottle or more of splendid wine to treat your dad in style.
First Thought Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
A ruby-coloured wine that pairs well with ripe black fruit, roast lamb, or a juicy steak.
Originally R450, now R350 per bottle.
Vergelegen Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2012 and 2016
This wine is ideal for further cellaring or ideal to enjoy now, served best with lamb cutlet or rib-eye steak. For R870 you can get one set along with a two-bottle carrier bag.
Vergelegen GVB Reds
A fine, vintage selection of six red wines – 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 – from the Rondekop vineyard on Vergelegen Wine Estate. These are some of the most highly awarded wines and originally cost R6 435, but for Father’s Day, you can purchase it for 20% off at R5148 per case.
You can purchase these wines right at the tasting room on the estate, or online.
You can even go one step further and take your father for a true wine and dine at two of the on-site restaurants; Stables, the family restaurant, or Café Fleur, a classic French eatery. After this, you may wish to take the cellar and vineyard tour, where you can go through the Vergelegen Arboretum and Biodiversity Nature Reserve.
