This recipe serves eight.
Ingredients
- 300 ml milk
- 250 ml sour cream
- 250 ml double cream
- 500 g potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 500 g sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 500 g butternut, peeled and thinly sliced
- A cup of grated cheese (Gruyère or Parmesan)
- 2 tsp crushed garlic
Simmer the milk, creams and garlic for a few minutes but be careful not to boil the sauce. Grease a large ovenproof dish and alternate layers of potatoes and butternut with the white sauce, finishing off with a layer of white sauce. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 180º C for 1,5 hours. Remove the foil and then bake for a further 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is golden.
Tip
If you aren’t a fan of butternut, replace it with more sweet potato or potato.
