The ARK Croc CR2 is a two-person inflatable canoe that’s just as at home cruising dams and waterways as it is at tackling grade-five rivers and wave surfing on the ocean. The Croc was designed for commercial rafting, but has become a popular choice for recreational use.
It features a PVC-covered, closed-cell foam floor that provides rigidity, buoyancy and protection while retaining a flat profile for smooth gliding over the water. It has a rapid self-bailing floor system for draining water from inside the canoe when tackling big water. All grab ropes and tie downs are fixed with indestructible, high-frequency, welded stainless steel D-rings, while the seams are rotary hotair welded (far superior to glued seams). It folds to the size of a large suitcase that can easily fit into the boot of a car.
The rest of the Croc family
There are two variations of the CR2 in the Croc series. The CR3 is half a metre longer and has an extra seat. The CRX is slightly wider and has a 70 mm rugged inflatable air floor that provides added buoyancy and rigidity, allowing it to carry more. It’s best suited for multi-day river trips, where extra packing space, comfort and buoyancy is useful.
