Imagine a lovechild between the popular photography social network Instagram and the iconic Polaroid camera of days gone by. Well, wonder no further. I give you, the Socialmatic™.
Instagram allowed people to share their snaps easily and made the creation of a personal travel album almost effortless. Although the Socialmatic™ is still in its conceptual stages, the design and marketing of the project is fully underway and we can expect to see the fruits of their labour in early 2014.
The company announced exciting news yesterday on its official partnership with C&A Licensing, LLC, an authorized Polaroid licensee, granting them the rights to produce a Polaroid branded instant digital camera.
Travel photography will be instant so you can give away the snaps you take of others on the spot. The Socialmatic™ will grant its user the best of digital social networking and web sharing as well as a hard copy photograph simultaneously.
Instagram owes much of its current look and functionality to the Polaroid camera, which launched in 2010. This app and social network allows users to post retro filters to photograph snapped up on their smart phones or tablets. These are then shared within a community of like-minded users.
Although the Socialmatic™ is bound to go through many design changes and stages the company promises these features will be included in the first model, which will be released in two colours.
