Killer whale pair Port and Starboard, known to prey on the great white sharks of the Western Cape are suspected to have struck again. A dead great white shark carcass washed ashore on a beach in Hartenbos and members of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment and researchers were on the scene to investigate on Sunday 21 August.
It is not confirmed that Port and Starboard were the killers.

The carcass has been moved to the Dias Maritime Museum for dissection, but all signs indicate that the shark had fallen victim to killer whales.
This is the second time in two months a great white was killed by orcas near Mossel Bay after a video surfaced of two whales killing a great white.
