Just over a month or two ago I was lucky enough to spend a few nights at Nooitgedacht Trout Lodge in Lydenburg with my girlfriend on a photography excursion. The accommodation, activities, food and general service was absolutely outstanding. The lodge is an old homely country lodge that has five bedrooms, all with an en suite bathroom. You either have the option of paying per person per night at a rate of R950 or you can hire out the entire lodge if you have a large family. This price includes all your catering needs and from what we experienced, the food was simply incredible. It honestly puts a new level on five stars.
This is an ideal weekend spot for friends, families or for you and your partner. There is an endless list of activities you can partake in, from fly fishing, to 4×4 trails, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, game viewing, hiking, tours of the hatchery to relaxing beside the pool with an ice cold beer in your hand. Nooitgedacht Trout Farm is a place that one should experience!
