If you fancy going out and meeting new people, here are a few Valentine’s Day events for singles I have found. If you know of any others out there, share the love and email me with the details.
5FM Love Sucks
Started last year, this event is a fun and quirky stab at the usual mushiness that is Valentine ‘s Day. Love Sucks is going to records in 2011. An official request has been lodged with the Guiness Book of World Records to break the world record for the most number of people speed dating at one time. This is one function not to be missed (and one I intend on going to)!
Valentine’s Day Cookery Class (Cape Town)
If you’re lucky enough to be single on Valentine’s Day, it means more than saving money on gifts and that frantic search for a romantic candlelit dinner venue . It also means you can attend Liam’s Valentine’s Day cookery class in Cape Town. What’s it all about? 10 single men, 10 single women. A full four-course menu focused around indulgence. Think oysters, caviar, crayfish, strawberries, chocolate and more. And there’ll be plenty of bubbly and other wines paired with the food.
Speed Dating Event (Cape Town)
Meet 15-20 professional singles in a safe, comfortable environment at this speed dating event. Even if you don’t meet your perfect match, you are bound to expand your circle of friends and have fun.
Singles Evening (Pietermaritzburg)
On arrival at this singles evening you get a welcome cocktail before you mingle and enjoy a fun night out meeting new, single people. Take a friend of the opposite sex and enjoy a night out meeting new people, and maybe your Valentine…you never know!
