The Melville Koppies conservation team has transformed a previously inaccessible rocky ridge along the frequently visited Koppies into a new walking trail for the city’s outdoor enthusiasts.

Open to the public on Sundays from 8:00 to 11:30, the new trail, according to Gauteng News, offers “breathtaking views stretching towards the west.”

As per the report, the reserve offers two options for self-guided walks – the 5km nature trail and the 3km heritage trail.

Fees are set at R90 for adults and R50 for persons under the age of 18.

All funds received are used for the maintenance of the historic Koppies, reports Bedford and Edenvale News.
