A trip to the Serengeti is a once-in- a-lifetime, bucket-list holiday, and if you’re a bush lover (as I am sure we all are), a blow-out safari is worth every cent.
Welcome, then, to Singita Milele, the latest in the eco-tourism and conservation company’s gorgeous properties, which opened in May.
It’s set on a secluded, breathtaking spot high on Sasakwa Hill, in more than 1 400 km2 of an untouched private concession in the world- renowned Grumeti Reserve in northern Tanzania.
This means personalised encounters on the wildebeest migration route, rather than the traffic jam that forms around many sightings in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara ecosystems.
Singita Milele is aimed at groups of family or friends, with five suites, the design inspired by the wildlife. Interior and design elements were sourced locally, returning cash to the local economy. There are also multiple outdoor spaces, Jacuzzis, a large infinity pool, the de rigueur boma and firepit, a fitness centre, a 10-person movie room and more.
Each suite has terraces, decks, out-door showers and views of the Serengeti – just the place to retreat when you need a rest from the world.
With its fully stocked cellar and impressive collection of award- winning wines, not unexpectedly, another activity is a tailor-made wine tasting.
