Airlink will undergo a change of leadership next year. This comes after the airline’s co-founder and CEO, Rodger Foster, has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of March 2025.
As reported by The South African, Foster’s stepping down comes after an illustrious tenure of over three decades. He co-founded the airline in June 1992.
After stepping down, Foster will maintain his connection with the airline as a shareholder and non-executive director.

Under Foster’s capable leadership, Airlink has evolved into a resilient industry leader. Over the years, the airline has grown to position itself as a key player in Southern Africa’s aviation industry.
Moreover, it was further strengthened by the Qatar Airways Group’s recent acquisition of a 25% stake.
According to African Travel & Tourism Association, the airline’s current Chief Financial Officer, de Villiers Engelbrecht, is set to take over as the new CEO from the 1st of April 2025.
He brings over two decades of experience with Airlink and has played an instrumental role in helping the airline to navigate through various challenges.
This leadership transition marks a new chapter for Airlink, which now flies to 50 destinations in 15 countries.
