A small island just km off the coast of Madagascar has all those paradise cliches you’d expect; turquoise waters and white soft sand. And, you can now fly there directly from Johannesburg.

Its name may mean “big island”, but Nosy Be is only 30km long and 12 km wide where you’ll find volcanic lakes, classic lemurs, rum distilleries, coral reefs and fantastic diving spots and the Lokobe Nature Special Reserve.
Airlink will reinstate weekly services to the island between Johannesburg OR Tambo from 25 June. The airline reinstated flights to Madagascar’s capital in January, after the country lifted its suspension on flights from South Africa.
‘Having just recently re-established connectivity between Johannesburg and Antananarivo, which is a predominantly business and trade route, Airlink is preparing to re-ignite tourism between the two countries by restarting its popular Nosy Be service,’ Airlink CEO and MD, Rodger Foster, commented.
Flight schedule from June 25
4Z 246 departs Johannesburg at 09h10 and arrives in Nosy Be at 13h40 on Sundays.
4Z 247 departs Nosy Be at 14h25 and arrives in Johannesburg at 17h10 on Sundays.
