Who would’ve guest that a worldwide pandemic would force our resorts to have to adapt to a whole new normal, characterised by the smell of disinfectants and the anonymity of wearing face masks. 2020 is definitely a year that we will never forget. Life as we knew it changed completely. To ensure the safety and health of our personnel and guests, our staff had to receive additional COVID-19 training. This internal training focused on measures to keep units and public areas clean and to help prevent the spread of the virus. Resorts also implemented strict control and supervision with regards to facilities, to help maintain sufficient social distancing and to ensure minimal contact.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown trapped us in our homes and neighbourhoods for months and holiday destinations such as the ATKV resorts were closed. Ask anyone what they missed the most during the lockdown and most people will answer the same: Freedom. The freedom to cross provincial and even national borders. To spend care-free days by the fishing waters and to look at the waves rolling in while digging your toes into the sand, with seagulls swirling in the air above you.
Now, thanks to the relaxation of the lockdown regulations, this ordeal is over now and you can once again load your caravan, pack your swimming costume and take some time off to relax at one of the seven wonderful resorts, without breaking the bank. For us at the ATKV, it is important that families can come and relax comfortably after the pressure that was placed on all South Africans as a result of the pandemic.
The ATKV staff remains focused on maintaining the critical aspects of a resort, the protection of all amenities and planning and implementing procedures to ensure the wellbeing, health and safety of our guests. The ATKV resorts are looking forward to guests visiting again and to spoiling them with a lifetime of unforgettable holiday memories.
