This is the second time this year that the Falls have been in flood, they reached 3566 cumec on 26 January 2022. The highest metre reading ever recorded was in 1974 when they reached just over 8000 cumec.

Five of the seven viewing decks have been closed down for safety reasons and visitors are advised to keep cellphones in cameras in ziplock bags to keep them safe from the spray. It is also suggested that visitors pack an extra pair of clothes as you are guaranteed to leave soaking wet.
