Winter is definitely on its way and Lesotho is proof of this. The high-lying country received snowfall last night, turning the gorgeous green mountains in the north of the country into a winter wonderland.
Lesotho is the world’s fifth highest country, as no part of it lies below 1,400 metres above sea level. It has an average elevation of 2,160 metres. The country is renowned for its white winters and South Africans often travel there to see the snow. For now however, we can enjoy the view through someone else’s lens.
Lesotho says “We’re Covid19 free, but we just reported our first case of snow in Africa!!”
