Known as the largest migration of mammals in the natural world, the Kasanka bat migration is imminent. This migration occurs from October to December each year, when about 5 to 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats flood the Zambian skies. The large number of bats make this spectacle an annual highlight for the African continent and safari devotees and other curious visitors flock to Kasanka National Park, Zambia, each year to witness it.
The migration takes place at the Bangweulu Wetlands within the park. There are other activities to add to your itinerary, offered at Kasanka National Park, that don’t involve the bat migration.
