Beaches and pools in Mother City ready for school holidays

The City of Cape Town has announced that beaches and municipal pools are ready for the upcoming school holidays.

As reported by The South African, Cape Town’s Recreation and Parks Department is set to revise the operational hours of community swimming pools for the upcoming school holidays.

As of Monday the 31st of March, the City has stated that community swimming pools will open daily until the end of the season. The operating hours will be from 10:00 to 18:00, with the last ticket sold at 17:30.

Furthermore, the City encourages residents and school children to take advantage of these recreational facilities, while also being mindful of established rules.

‘It is crucial for parents and guardians to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and to supervise them closely, especially near water. Our lifeguards play a vital role in maintaining a safe environment at beaches and pools, and we kindly ask beachgoers to adhere to the rules to help ease their responsibilities,’ said Councillor Francine Higham, Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health.

Beach lifeguards are set to be on duty every day from 10:00 to 18:00.
