Cape Town has once again been mentioned among the world’s best, and this time we have Camps Bay Beach to thank.
US travel publication Travel + Leisure includes this sun-kissed shoreline in their most recent list of The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches.
Is Camps Bay South Africa’s Miami? We tend to think it’s the other way around. Of course, South Africans would argue all of our beaches are idyllic, and so they are. However, Camps Bay is unique in that it isn’t far out or secluded. In fact, it is situated in one of Cape Town’s busiest streets and forms the heart of the hustle and bustle of this pristine suburb.
‘Truly beautiful beaches tend to be remote-island destinations far from the urban buzz. A big exception is Camps Bay Beach, right in vibrant Cape Town,’ the publication writes.
‘With all due respect to mountain people, there’s simply nothing in this world like a beautiful beach,’ they add.
Other awe-inspiring beaches around the world that made the list were Greece’s Elafonissi Beach, Brazil’s Baia do Sancho and Mauritius’ Le Morne.
