Cape Town’s International Airport has officially been voted the best airport in Africa again by Skytrax World Airport Awards.
Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities, David Maynier, welcomed the award saying, ‘During this challenging time, this award is a beacon of hope for all in the tourism industry, signifying that when we are ready to welcome visitors to Cape Town and the Western Cape, we will be ready to once again offer them the excellent service they have become accustomed to receiving.’
This is the fifth consecutive year that Cape Town’s International Airport has been voted best in Africa, further confirming that those who experience the airport are treated to world-class services and facilities.
CEO of Cape Town International, Deon Cloete, expressed his appreciation: ‘All of this would not be possible without the collaboration of the Provincial and City structures especially Air Access. We’re extremely proud of this accolade. Well done to all involved!’
Other winners include Singapore Changi Airport, who was voted as the ‘best airport in the world’, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport won ‘World’s cleanest airports’ and Japans Kansai International Airport won ‘World’s Best Airport Staff’.
