Travel experts at Bounce conducted a study that found Cape Town to be the world’s seventh most ‘affordable city break destination’ for 2023.

IOL reported that Bounce analysed 75 of 2023’s most popular city break destinations, accounting for the price of a beer, hotel costs, and one-way transport rates, to crown the most affordable city breaks this year.
In Cape Town, a meal at a restaurant costs, on average, about R200, with a beer at R46, while a hotel room per night costs about R5600.
Romania’s Timisoara is the most affordable city break destination, where a hotel room costs R2300. Transport is also incredibly cheap in Timisoara, averaging at R15 per kilometre.

Buenos Aires took second place this year.
