Colombia is a popular destination for holidaymakers and where many people begin cruising through the Panama Canal. With this increased demand, travel agencies have noticed longer wait periods for clients to receive their tourist visas.
Where 15 days was expected for the visa process, it can now take up to 30 days, reports Travel News.
A long list of documents is required to apply for a tourist visa. Six months’ banking statements are needed. A letter of employment and letter of motivation must be submitted in Spanish (the Colombian Embassy says that using Google Translate is sufficient). You can request an up-to-date list of documents by emailing [email protected].
Other countries that are having unusually long wait periods for tourist visas to be processed are Vietnam and Canada, while trying to obtain an appointment for a USA visa has continued to be the greatest challenge.
