Croatia has been struck by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake near the capital city of Zagreb.
According to reports from The Independent, the earthquake caused widespread damage, including collapsed roofs, facades and even entire buildings.
The Croatian Red Cross described the situation as “very serious” as it dispatched crisis teams to the area. Video footage shows emergency workers frantically trying to save people trapped underneath the rubble.

‘We mobilized all available services to help people and clear the destroyed parts. The most important thing now is to save human lives,’ said Prime minister Andrej Plenkovic, as reported by The Independent.
Croatian media said people were injured by the quake, but due to the mass confusion and downed phone lines, an exact number has not been provided yet.
