Countries around the world that are reopening their borders to tourists are implementing various measures to promote their local tourism and guarantee visitor safety. Cyprus has said that any visitor who contracts the coronavirus while in the country will be cared for, free of charge.

Medication, accommodation and food for the person infected and their family will be covered by the state, according to Lonely Planet. It will not cover repatriation flights.
The Mediterranean island will open its borders from 9 June. All visitors are required to present a health certificate upon entry.
The country’s tourism sector has been briefed to especially promote activities and areas that pose a low risk for the spread of infection.
‘Many actions have been taken regarding the mountains, the countryside and remote areas. Specialized incentives have been secured for travel organizers to promote the mountainous countryside and remote areas,’ Deputy Minister of Tourism Savvas Perdios said to Balkan EU.
Cyprus is known for its brilliant blue waters, cultural and historical heritage and warm, sunny weather. Interestingly, the island is divided and the northern part is under Turkish control. After Sicily and Sardinia, Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea.
