The artworks of Vincent Van Gogh have been brought to life in a Parisian exhibit titled ‘Van Gogh, la nuit étoilée’. The exhibit opened in 2019 and visitors would ‘step inside’ and immerse themselves in Van Gogh’s artworks. These included Sunflowers, The Bedroom, and Starry Night.
An equivalent exhibition in Toronto, Canada is taking visitors’ experience to a new level. Those who visit the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit will be able to dive into Van Gogh’s world, without leaving the comfort of their car.
The art exhibit will be a drive-in experience, called ‘Gogh by car’. This experience is in line with local social distancing practices. Many museums and galleries have gone digital as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. These ingenious ways to appreciate art may be shaping the future of how we experience museums.
The exhibit also offers walk-through experiences but these have been paused for the time being. The drive-through art exhibit will open for 10 days, from 18-28 July. Tickets cost 95 Canadian Dollars (R1,193) and there is currently a waiting list.
