The Museum of the Future opened in Dubai on 25 February 2022, with displays in Dubai’s newest architectural marvel promising to be as whimsical as the design itself.
The museum is meant to display technologies of the future with the intent of inspiring the public to think about the future amongst its seven floors.
Exhibitions include displays on humanity in space, prototypes that look at problems like city planning and environment as well as immersive digital exhibits.
The museum has even been designed with the help of AI, with the facade’s glass panels cut precisely with the help of robotic arms.
‘One big component of the museum is the trip to space and how we can leverage and elaborate on the advancement and efficiency of space travel’, says Dubai Future Foundation CEO, Khalfan Belhoul.
There is also a focus on DNA sampling and genetics, with the fourth and fifth floors o the museum dedicated to technology exhibitions.
The third floor Khalfan says is the opposite. ‘The message on the third floor is that there is also a need to take the technology hats off and to focus on oneself as a human being’, he says.
‘The human being has been the core of the past, is the core of the present and will continue to be the core of the future. Without us focusing on our well being, our senses and our interaction, none of the technological advancements would make sense because they simply would not be sustainable’.
Entry tickets for the museum of the Future are 140 AED (R530)
