Dubai to reopen its borders.

As of July 7, Dubai will allow tourists to enter under the condition that they present relevant documentation relating to their current health status.

The paperwork includes proof of a negative COVID-19 test conducted within at least four days or 96 hours before departure, according to a statement by the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.

Before boarding a plane to Dubai visitors will need to ensure they have valid health insurance by filling out a ‘Health Declaration Form’. Upon arrival, tourists are subject to a thermal screening.

Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to go into isolation for a 14-day period at an institutional facility ‘at their own expense’ according to the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.

International tourists entering Dubai will also be required to download the COVID-19 DXB app and register their details onto it. This is to facilitate easy coordination and communication with health authorities should they experience COVID-19 symptoms.

Once tourists have been granted access to the country they will still be required to follow strict social distancing laws along with wearing a face mask when in public.

Emirates have strict safety protocols in place, according to Travel and Leisure. Flight attendants will also routinely disinfect the airplane bathroom every 45 minutes on flights longer than 1.5 hours.

Residents of Dubai who were unable to travel abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be allowed to travel overseas from 23 July.
