This past Saturday, a tourist was tragically killed by an elephant near the Crocodile River at Kruger National Park’s Malelane Gate.
As reported by Cape Town Etc, SANParks officials quickly responded to the scene to provide support to the grieving family.

JP Louw, SANParks Head of Communications and Spokesperson, has confirmed the tragic event and said that investigators were working to determine the circumstances leading up to the attack.
The organisation’s Board and Management extended their heartfelt condolences to the victim’s loved ones during this incredibly tragic and difficult time.
SANParks has further asked the public to refrain from sharing photos or videos of the incident.
Moreover, tourists are urged to remain inside their vehicles when encountering wild animals. SANParks will release additional details regarding the matter in due course.
