eThekwini Municipality updates beach accessibility in Durban

The eThekwini Municipality has announced the latest updates on beach and swimming pool accessibility in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. As of January 20, 2025, 21 beaches are open and safe for swimming, while two remain closed due to water quality concerns.

Beaches open daily from 06:00 to 18:30 and include popular spots such as uShaka, North Beach, South Beach, mDloti Beach, and Umhlanga Beach, among others.

However, Anstey’s Beach and Winklespruit are currently closed for swimming. Visitors are still welcome to enjoy recreational activities at these locations, such as walking, sunbathing, or sightseeing, ensuring no loss of scenic charm.
