The eThekwini Municipality has released updated information regarding the status of beaches and public swimming pools in the city.
According to the municipality, 20 beaches in Durban are currently open and deemed safe for swimming, while three beaches remain closed due to concerns over water quality.
The beaches open for swimming, with operating hours from 06:00 to 18:30, include popular spots such as Wedge, uShaka, Point Beach, Addington, North Beach, South Beach, and others across Durban. Additionally, recreational activities other than swimming are still permitted at the three closed beaches: Anstey’s Beach, Toti Main Beach, and Pipeline Beach.
