Extreme weather conditions hit parts of South Africa this past weekend, 25 September, leading to road closures and heavy flooding in parts of the province.
Gale-force winds, downpours, and mudslides were reported in multiple regions of the Western Cape, and rescue services had to evacuate people around the province.
Heavy storm winds hit parts of KwaZulu Natal, reaching speeds of up to 86 km/hr, causing destruction to natural and man-made structures.
The Eastern Cape has received warnings from weather services of imminent flooding as the weather moves to that side of the country.
Authorities remind the public to remain cautious of areas affected by heavy rains and winds and to take extra care when travelling.
