A farmhand in Kinyana village in Kenya caused widespread panic when he mistook a shopping bag for a stray lion in a hedge outside his employer’s home.
A team of three armed wildlife officers responded quickly and investigated the area pointed out by the farmhand with extreme caution.
Fear would soon turn to shock when the officers discovered that it was not really a lion at all, but a shopping bag with a somewhat realistic lion image on the front.
The bag contained avocado seedlings and was placed in the hedge by the owner who wanted to prevent them from drying out.
According to BBC, the Kenya Wildlife Service lauded the public for acting responsibly to mitigate a potentially threatening situation.
