FlySafair have been awarded the title of Best Airline Africa and Indian Ocean in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice™ awards for Airlines, for the second year in a row. Fulfilling their mission of being ‘South Africa’s favourite airline.’
The budget airline was established in 2014, when it was started by it’s long-running parent company Safair. Safair has been around for 50 years providing specialist airlift services for cargo to obscure parts of the world.
The parent company then started a budget airline that offers low fees to give South Africans another airline option and to open up air travel to more people.

The Travellers’ Choice Awards are run by Trip Advisor and winners are chosen based on the ratings over the year and the categories that travellers review under.
With an average rating of 4/5, Flysafair performed well across all the ratings categories, with particularly high marks for: Onboard Experience, Customer Service, Check-in & Boarding, Value for Money and Cleanliness.
