While all access gates remain open, main roads between Skukuza and Lower Sabie have been damaged.
The flooding is primarily concentrated south of the Olifants River, with water levels in the Sabie and Sand Rivers expected to remain high for some time, reports South African National Parks (SANParks).
Northern areas of the park are also affected, with the Luvuvhu River at its highest level this season. SANParks’ Disaster Management Team has been activated to handle potential emergencies, though no injuries or property damage have been reported.
Those visiting the national park are urged to follow road closures, avoid low-lying bridges, and not exit vehicles to remove debris.
Tourists with bookings are advised to confirm the accessibility of their destinations with camp receptions or SANParks’ emergency call center.
