A park guide spotted individuals retrieving a drone at Kruger National Park and was immediately reported to identify the perpetrators. Luckily, the visitors were caught and fined around R1500 for their actions. They were identified by a video posted on X, which had their vehicle number plate on display in the footage.
As stated by IOL, various South African national parks ban the use of drones for various reasons. From the noise, which causes stress to animals, to the method of detection used by poachers to locate their targets, drone usage is only available for individuals with a special permit.
