The Department of Home Affairs is set to roll out the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme this month.
As reported by The South African, the scheme is aimed at making it easier for selected tour operators from China and India to obtain visas for tourists who wish to visit South Africa.
The vetted tour operators will ease entry processes for tourists from China and India by managing the entry requirements of organised tour groups.

It will also alleviate some of the key obstacles currently standing in the way of South Africa becoming a favoured destination for tourists from these nations.
Although India and China are the initial focus countries, the Department of Home Affairs has stated possible growth to include additional countries at a later stage.
The Trusted Tour Operator Scheme is set to initially run as a pilot project for 100 days, with 100 tour operators accepted into the first group.
According to Home Affairs Minister, Leon Schreiber, the scheme is expected to result in more tourists, as well as a boost in the economy.
