Posted on 5 March 2020

If you’re passionate about nature and conservation, you can become a SANPark Ranger with this ranger volunteer programme.

Nature-lovers based in Cape Town will have the opportunity to join SANParks’ 2020 ranger volunteer programme operating within the 25,000-hectare Table Mountain National Park.

The volunteer course consists of a ‘challenging’ nine-month mentorship programme which consists of in-class and in-field lectures, mountain safety,  trail and tourist education and mountain patrolling including full-moon patrols. Training will take place every Saturday from 9am–5pm.

Ideal candidates need to be reasonably fit and willing to undergo a fitness and basic skills assessment and require a matric certificate. Candidates must reside in Cape Town and there is no remuneration for this programme.

Applicants should send their CVs and copies of ID to [email protected] or submit an application directly to the Table Mountain National Park Kloof Nek Offices.

Applications close on Friday 20 March. Training is set to commence from 11 April 2020.
