According toTravelNews, Amanzimtoti Main Beach is gearing up for an unforgettable festive season with the introduction of the Water Sweets 2024 Games, a groundbreaking initiative promoting inclusive tourism. Running from December 20-23, this free event invites both able-bodied and disabled holidaymakers to enjoy a variety of beach activities together.

Hosted by Wheels on Waves in partnership with Sapphire Coast Tourism, the games will feature unique events like beach arm golf, seated volleyball, and the inspiring Danito challenge, where participants are blindfolded and aim to score with a hacky sack. The festivities will culminate with a Santa Surprise Visit, a closing ceremony, and a beach afterparty.
‘This initiative highlights Amanzimtoti as an international destination for disabled visitors,’ said Reece Smith of Rolling with Reece, who, alongside his father Wesley, is raising funds for Sandcruiser Beach Wheelchairs to enhance water access for those with mobility challenges.
The games coincide with the ever-popular Sapphire Sizzling Summer programme, which offers seaside games, giveaways, and entertainment for all. ‘Inclusive tourism is more than just ramps,’ said Wesley Smith. ‘It’s about creating unforgettable experiences for everyone.’
