Kruger National Park management said there is likely to be an organised ‘shutdown’ of Phalaborwa by locals on 27 May. As a result, guests and staff planning to travel to and from Kruger National Park through the Phalaborwa Gate are advised to use alternative gates.
‘The shutdown follows a series of gender-based violence (GBV) related incidents in the community,’ SANParks said. Residents reportedly plan to march to police stations in protest.
More information and updates will be posted when available.
