A kudu with large white splotches on its back was seen in Kruger National Park on 30 June. This might be the same one that has been spotted by visitors before.

The most likely explanation for this appearance is leucism, a condition that results in the partial or total loss of pigmentation. This can make the animal have white or patchily coloured skin, fur or feathers.
