Air Botswana has indefinitely delayed the launch of its key route due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Gaborone-Windhoek-Durban service was originally scheduled to commence on the 1st of October.

As reported by Tourism Update, the airline expressed that two factors contributed to the delay. It was due to the process of adding the new aircraft to its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), as well as a delay in the delivery of the aircraft intended for the route.

The airline is working with travel agents to ensure that alternative travel arrangements are provided for affected passengers.

Moreover, the Namibia Airports Company has advised the use of alternatives (such as FlySafair and SAA) for travellers who intended to use Air Botswana’s service to Windhoek.

FlySafair will begin operating a twice-weekly service between Cape Town International Airport and Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek on the 22nd of October. SAA also intends to add a third daily frequency between Johannesburg and Windhoek from the 27th of October going forward.
