A light private aircraft crash-landed along Link Road in the Cape Point section of Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) on Thursday, 10 February, SANParks confirmed.

‘All emergency personnel were immediately informed and responded timeously. The light aircraft had two occupants who suffered minor injuries, and have thus been transported to hospital for further examination,’ they said.

The details surrounding the cause of the crash are unknown at this stage. Link and Olifantsbos road within Cape Point will be closed until further notice.

SANParks added it would like to thank the TMNP staff, the South African Airforce, Cape Medical Response, SAPS Simonstown, Metro Search and Rescue, and the Simonstown Fire and Rescue Services for their prompt response.
