Footage has emerged of a lion alongside the P700 road outside Ulundi in KwaZulu Natal (KZN), where locals have increasingly become frustrated with escaping wildlife from the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park.
The lion was spotted just a week after the KZN portfolio committee on conservation and environmental affairs met with the community to address to the issue of escaping wildlife and agreed to fix the broken fence surrounding the park.
The community has expressed great frustration with escaping wildlife, with some saying they are fearing for their lives, especially after a woman was injured after a close encounter with an escaped rhino.
A pride of six lions were also put down after a community dispute, with surrounding communities outraged after they lost cattle to the lions.
