According to Sipho Sono, Mango’s Business Rescue Practitioner (BRP), without the payment from the SAA, the sale of Mango is in jeopardy.
Furthermore, he alleged that the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) has paid a sum of R399 million to Mango, whereas SAA has only paid R89 million.
‘SAA has instead indicated that the DPE has imposed certain conditions to the balance of funds, which conditions, in the opinion of the BRP, are unjustified and do not find application in the approved Business Rescue plan (BR plan),’ said Sono.
According to TravelNews, Sono wanted legal counsel to approach the court and demand that SAA pay the outstanding balance to Mango ‘unconditionally and without delay’.
