South African carrier Mango says it has reached an agreement with SA Airways Technical (SAAT) to continue maintenance of their aircraft.
This after Mango’s embattled parent company SAA allegedly failed to pay SAAT, who are responsible for maintaining and servicing the planes, according to Business Day.
Earlier this week, Mango released a statement on Facebook saying they will continue operating via third party aircraft lease arrangements, including operating their own aircraft to fly passengers until further notice.
‘Mango remains hopeful that a win-win solution between itself and SAAT would be found in due course,’ the airline added.
On Friday, October 2 Mango announced that SAAT has agreed to work with Mango once again.
‘Mango would like to report back that an agreement has been reached with SA Airways Technical (SAAT) to continue maintaining, servicing and providing daily pre-flight checks on Mango aircraft as per usual,’ the airline said on Facebook.
‘Mango is doing all within its power to restore operations to normal. We urge all our Guests to always check our website for any changes to our flight schedule. We regret the inconvenience caused to all our stakeholders. We look forward to flying you again in the near future.’
