The safety operation will also feature state-of-the-art technology, including automatic number plate recognition, bodycams on officers, smart dashcam systems, as well as drones.

‘Our Festive Season Safety Plan ensures everyone can have a safe, enjoyable time in the Mother City. Tourism supports thousands of local jobs, and it’s our priority to make sure visitors experience Cape Town’s world-renowned attractions with peace of mind,’ commented Cape Town Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis.

High-visibility policing can be expected at key tourist hotspots including Table Mountain, as well as popular beaches and shopping areas.
