Mozambique has joined the rest of its Southern African neighbours in dropping the mandatory PCR test requirement for vaccinated travellers.
This was announced by Mozambican president, Filipe Nyusi, who said that this was due to the drop in the number of infections and the county’s high vaccination rate.
Unvaccinated travellers over the age of 11 must present a negative PCR test however and travellers who do not present a vaccine certificate or PCR test must do an antigen test on arrival.
With the drop in stringent restrictions, Mozambique hopes that the newly established Maputo National Park will further promote the country’s tourism attractions, which is a popular destination for South Africans.
