My Octopus Teacher has won an Oscar award for Best Documentary at the 93rd Academy Awards in Los Angeles on April 26.
The heartwarming story depicts the bond Craig Foster had with an octopus he gets to know while freediving in False Bay.
‘I know there are many South Africans awake right now. In many ways, this really is the tiny personal story that played out in a sea forest at the very tip of Africa. but on a more universal level, I hope that it provided a glimpse of a different type of between human beings and the natural world,’ said Pippa Ehrlich, co-director of the documentary.
The film also won a BAFTA earlier this year.
