The Ai-Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park could soon see cross-border tourism products and events within the park, if Namibia Wildlife Resorts follows through with commitments made before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Namibian delegation travelled to Pretoria on 2 November for discussions with SANParks authorities. The idea of the transfrontier park is to facilitate ecosystem management, in addition to undertaking trans-border eco-tourism and regional social development. The specific tourism products have not been confirmed.
‘With the cycling race that involved competitors having to pedal day and night across the beauty of the Ai-Ais National Park, we saw throngs of adrenalin hunters enjoying themselves and creating a strong marketing for Namibia and the park. We hope to see the same soon again,’ Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) Managing Director, Matthias Ngwangwama said in a statement. ‘This means more revenue for Namibia in terms of tourism.’
NWR is the national implementing agency in Namibia responsible for managing tourism facilities in national parks and formed part of the delegation to Pretoria.
