The new Tourism Trends in South Africa 2025 report highlights future growth for the country’s tourism sector.
As reported by African Travel & Tourism Association, the report was published by Research And Markets. It notes an expected rise of inbound visitor numbers.

This rise is bolstered by an increase in direct flights, a reformed visa system, as well as some infrastructure investments.

According to the report, niche tourism markets including luxury travel, wellness tourism and adventure tourism are all expected to see significant growth.
There is also a rising demand for eco-tourism and off-the-beaten-path destinations.
Furthermore, the introduction of a remote work visa is anticipated to boost the demand on long-term accommodation. Through initiatives such as the Trusted Operator Scheme, an increase in arrivals from key markets such as China and India can also be expected.
The hosting of the G20 Summit further presents an opportunity to showcase South Africa’s event hosting capabilities and tourism offerings.
