How often have you shook your head in disapproval at something a passenger next to you has done during a long haul flight? A former flight attendant gathered enough content to create her very own Instagram account dedicated to shaming airline passengers for their gross, and sometimes funny behaviour.
The account, aptly named ‘Passenger Shaming’ has been commended as one of the ‘100 best Instagram accounts’ by Rolling Stone Magazine. The account exposes the most inexplicable behaviour flight attendants, travellers and other crew members have seen around the world.
The sassy and hilarious commentary on these posts will leave you in stitches.
1. Wandering feet
Whether your feet are dirty or clean, it is definitely not okay to spread your legs into your fellow passengers space. The traveller below encountered some of the dirtiest feet we had seen.
Traveller Tip: Lift the arm rest, giving them no option but to retreat their feet.
2. Keep it clean
While collecting your luggage, its easy to notice the strange items that pass by on the conveyor belt – a clip submitted to Passenger shaming shows a traveller collecting a broom for a weekend of spring cleaning. The post is captioned, “Keep it clean this weekend, kids”.
Traveller tip: Don’t ever clean on holiday!
3. Spiders on a plane
It is rare for creepy crawlies to make their way on a flight but this little guy below really wanted to see the world.
We are not too sure how he got on the aircraft but we are sure they might make a movie about it titled, ‘Spiders on a plane’ staring Samuel L. Jackson.
Traveller tip: Don’t watch snakes on a plane before or during a flight.
4. Grab a snack
Some travelers do not understand the concept of boundaries. Whether they are hogging the arm rest or falling asleep on your shoulder, it’s not cool. A traveller captured the moment a fellow passenger decided to taste their food (without permission of course), small hands can be seen slowly making their way to grab a few pieces of fruit.
Traveller tip: Hide your wife, your kids and your snacks.
5. Online laundry service
Long-haul flights can be boring but attempting to do your laundry to pass the time is a big no-no. A flight attendant encountered freshly washed laundry hanging in the gallery of the aircraft and from her seat.
Traveller tip: Be sure to stow your dirty laundry in your check-in luggage.
6. Dentures
A traveller lost their ‘smile’ after leaving their dentures on a flight, perhaps they were just upset the holidays were over.
Traveller tip: Be sure to check your smile when leaving the aircraft.
7. Remain fully clothed
Although we all like to get comfortable while flying, taking your shirt, pants or socks, underwear (yes even underwear) is not acceptable – you think this would be a given.
Traveller tip: Wear loose fitting clothes while flying, but wear clothes.

8. Be sure to get in your stretches
Doctors may advise some individuals to walk up and down the aisle to circulate blood flow during long-haul flights but these passengers decided to host their own yoga studio, blocking doors to the bathrooms and causing havoc for everyone on board.
Viewers commented, “did they miss circ’ du’ Soleil?”
Traveller tip: Lunges and strolls between the aisles are advised.
9. Pups on a plane
We do not know what flight this took place on, but we would like several tickets and more adorable puppies on board. Where this adorable puppy is traveling, we are not sure but we do know ‘he definitely is a good boy’.
Traveller tip: Be considerate of those traveling with therapy animals to curb their anxiety and stress during flights.
10. Parenting on board is not easy
Entertaining young children during long flights is not easy, luckily for these parents their child found a white canvas to draw on. We are hoping this can be washed off or that he/she is the next Van Gough, only time will tell.
Traveller tip: Bring along a few activities for your children to do while flying.
11. The importance of pizza
Sometimes in-flight meals just do not hit the spot and the takeaway pizza you managed to grab at the airport restaurant is what you are craving, this passenger proves that nothing stands between a person and their pizza.
He attempts to heat up his pizza by putting it closer to the light, aside from the fact that it will not heat up, we admire his optimism.
Traveller tip: Be sure to pack an in-flight snack for the trip.
