Passengers to complete questionnaire before flying in SA

Posted on 9 July 2020 By Anita Froneman

All passengers travelling by air for any reason in South Africa must complete a health questionnaire before arriving at their terminal entrance.

‘In recent days we have begun experience longer queues at the terminal entrance points because many passengers have not completed the required health questionnaire. This means that there are increasing numbers of passengers gathering around the entrance filling in the forms,’ said OR Tambo spokesperson Samukelo Khambule according to IOL.

Passengers must complete the questionnaire prior to arrival.

Khambule added that management is experiencing much appreciated cooperation from passengers with regards to compliance with COVID-19 regulations, but urged passengers to avoid causing delays at the airports by completing the required questionnaire beforehand.

Passengers will either be sent the form by respective airlines when making a booking, or it can be downloaded here.

The following airports are currently operating:

– OR Tambo International Airport

– King Shaka International Airport

– Cape Town International Airport

– Lanseria International Airport

– Bram Fischer International Airport

– Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport

– Pietermaritzburg Airport

– Port Elizabeth International Airport

– Richardsbay Airport

– Skukuza Airport

– Upington International Airport

Residents are only allowed to fly for the following reasons:

‘Please note that it is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure you have the required document in terms of level 3 regulations, PRIOR TO purchasing the ticket. You will be turned away if you cannot produce this document, regardless of whether you have a ticket,’ Airports Company South Africa said.
